So we have put together a list of the top 10 restaurants and places to eat in Croydon, according to TripAdvisor.

Ponte Nuovo
Style: Italian, Pizza, Mediterranean
86-88 High Street, Croydon CR0 1NA

The following review comes from Howard, who booked a table at Ponte Nuovo for his son’s birthday:

A great birthday outing! We took our son here for a pizza to mark his eighth birthday. A number of other family members tagged along and the restaurant were able to seat us all without any fuss, even though there were ten of us and we hadn’t made a booking. The food was excellent and we didn’t have to wait long for it. The staff were very friendly.

KK’s Texan Grill House
Style: American, Mexican, Steakhouse
300 High Street, Croydon CR0 1NG

Sally from London gives her thoughts and experience at eating at KK’s Texan Grill House:

Fab place, great food 5! We had dinner here for my sons birthday, we had read such good reviews about this place, and I can confirm it really is a great place to eat. The food was excellent, good size portions, cooked to perfection. Great, friendly, knowledgeable staff, who really made our night very special. We will definitely be back. Quite a small restaurant, so I would recommend you book a table, well. Worth a visit.

Thanh’s Bistro
Style: Asian, Vietnamese, Vegetarian Friendly
56 Lower Addiscombe Road, Croydon CR0 6AA

After a recent visit to Thanh’s Bistro, Mikey from Dunstable, passes on his review:

Lovely food and lovely welcome! Have dined there a few times now, working my way through the menu! The peanut chicken curry is very nice and I have tried the pancakes – delicious too. The lady that runs it is so nice too – lovely smile and a friendly welcome. Reasonably priced but the food is worth it.

Yaalu Yaalu Selsdon
Style: Indian, Asian, Sri Lankan
164 Addington Road, Croydon CR2 8LB

After eating at Yaalu Yaals Selsdon, Andy from Banstead posted the following review on TripAdvisor.

Delicious meal! We visited here last Saturday evening with friends. Quite small and intimate. Really friendly staff. A good selection on the menu and really tasty food. Love to try new foods and Sri Lankan is one I will have again! Delicious and also very reasonably priced, £100 for a 3 course meal for 4 with drinks.

Karachi Cuisine
Style: Indian, Middle Eastern, Pakistani
1113-1115 London Road, Norbury, Croydon SW16 4XD

Belle from Croydon talks about her eating experience at Karachi Cuisine in Croydon:

Outstanding! I always eat here every few months and on this occasion, I came with my mum on a Saturday evening. It was very busy but the waiters recognised us and asked how we were, etc which is always a lovely touch.

Our waiter was Nofil; he was very helpful and advised me to try the fish Karahi, as I wanted a fish curry. Along with that we ordered a tadka daal, fish tikka and a garlic naan and roti.

The food was truly excellent and the curry was my favourite one yet. To finish I had a kheer which is the best one that I’ve ever tried anywhere – ask for it to be warmed up though for the better taste experience. This restaurant is fantastic and I am glad that they’re open all day for take-aways and sit down meals.

Style: Seafood, British Fish & Chips
Featherbed Lane, Croydon CR0 9AS

After having fish chips at McDermott’s in Croydon, Tony from London decided to put up this review:

Best fish and chips in London! I have had very good fish and chips in coastal areas and in Devon, Rick Stein’s in Padstowe amongst others.

This is the only place I have eaten anything that matches the quality I have had further afield and fully deserves it’s reputation.

I used to drive past it all the time and it was only when some friends mentioned it and said it was award winning we decided to give it a try.

If there is fish and chips on the itinerary this is the only place to go!

Anabella’s Kitchen
Style: Mediterranean, European, Turkish
299 High Street, Croydon CR0 1QL

Though Xcloose from London doesn’t live in the Croydon area, he still payed a visit to Anabella’s Kitchen to eat. This is what he thought:

Wonderful little gem! We were looking for somewhere to eat and altho not as big as some of the other restaurants, it just stood out so we thought we would try it

They had a great looking menu and the friendly staff were on hand o answer our questions and give good suggestions. And I am not really a dessert after a meal person but they were REALLY good! I am not in this area much but if I am again, I know it is here I would want to eat.

Veeno Croydon
Style: Italian, Wine Bar, Vegetarian Friendly
46 George Street, Croydon CR0 1PB

After eating at Veeno Croydon. Katherine from London decided to post a review on TripAdvisor, here it is:

Great Value for Money! Ate here in a group and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food for the price. Everything on the menu is well priced – the lunch specials look particularly good (I will be back to take advantage of them at some point!) – and the wine recommendation by our waitress Katie was spot on. The sharer boards are generously portioned and while we didn’t have dessert the ones we saw looked great. Will definitely back, and very glad to have found this just down the road from us!

Style: Indian, Fast food, Asian
Boxpark Croydon London CR0 1LD

Recent reviews about Indigo seem to be a mixture of good and not-so good. Here is what Miss_Bliss from London thought about her eating experience:

Loved it! I just had a vegan Tadka Dahl bento box via Deliveroo and I was really impressed. They substituted the naan with a dairy free flatbread which was nice and gave me mango chutney instead of the raitha. It also came with a green salad, basmati rice, onion bahji, chickpea curry and the Tadka Dahl. All the flavours were lovely, both the chickpea curry and Tadka Dahl were delicious and not oily and everything tasted fresh. It was a good amount of food as well. After reading some mixed reviews on here about the vegan options I wasn’t sure what to expect but I can honestly say that it was really tasty, I will definitely be ordering again and I would highly recommend!

SalVe Italian Restaurant
Style: Italian, Pizza, Vegetarian Friendly
1 Lansdowne Road, Croydon CR0 2BN
Website: NONE

Victoria from Cardiff gives her thoughts and experiences at eating at Croydon’s SalVe Italian Restaurant:

Great food great service! Evening meal for me and a colleague. The service was excellent with the waitresses being very attentive. The food was absolutely delishious and they even boxed up my pizza that I couldn’t eat to take home. It’s a lovely little restaurant and we didn’t feel rushed or hurried to vacate the table for others either. Will definitely be returning.
