It’s a Friday night and you fancy a curry but do not want to cook. You won’t to go out and try somewhere different, but are not sure which Indian restaurant in Bromley to try. So we have decided to put together the Best Restaurants in Bromley article – Part 1 looking at the Top 10, according to TripAdvisor.

The Amber Fort
Style: Indian, Asian, Balti
166A Upper Elmers End Road, Beckenham BR3 3DY

The following comes from Ken of Bromley, where he gives a few words of his eating experience at The Amber Fort in Beckenham, Bromley:

Quality food and service. My grandson had this restaurant recommended to him and decided to celebrate his birthday there. Very friendly attentive staff and good service. The food was of a very high standard and surprisingly very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Masala Dabbas
Style: Indian, Asian, Vegetarian Friendly
Orpington 294 High Street, Orpington, Bromley BR6 0NF

Suri of London gives their thoughts about Masala Dabbas of Orpington, Bromley:

Amazing food! We have eaten in this restaurant 3 times . Each time has been a delight. The food is excellent and a touch above the usual Indian restaurant. The owners and staff are very attentive and take time to explain the various dishes and origins . The garlic nan bread is the best I have eaten and the prawns were delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant especially if you are looking for something a bit special.

Beckenham Curry Club
Style: Indian, Asian, Balti
Upper Elmers End Road, Beckenham, Bromley BR3 3QZ

Here are Daryll of London’s thoughts about his eating experience at the Beckenham Curry Club of Bromley, Kent:

Always good. Been here a few times now with my brothers for a catch up, we have tried a few curry restaurants around this area however this is one of the better ones. Also friend and high service, food has been good each time we have been here.

Indian Essence
Style: Indian, Asian, Vegetarian Friendly
176-178 Petts Wood Road, Petts Wood, Orpington, Bromley BR5 1LG

This review of Indian Essence come from Steve of London:

Amazing food not typical Indian menu but great tasting food. I have eaten here several times its a little gem or a restaurant. The level of cooking is so high and the flavours intense. I am usually a stickler for my Chicken Madras/Vindaloo but these dishes are not on this menu forcing you to try new dishes, you wont be disappointed its really worth a visit.

Cinnamon Culture
Style: Indian, Asian, Vegetarian Friendly
46 Plaistow Lane, Bromley BR1 3PA

Nuwz of London gives their review at eating at the Cinnamon Culture in Bromley:

Love love this place 🙂 Such a wonderful restaurant, excellent food and even better service. Special thanks to Manpreet and the lovely lady in charge of the lunch service. We went for my husband’s birthday and he thoroughly enjoyed it. My mother in law was very complimentary of the Keralan fish curry. We will definitely return again. Highly recommend.

Style: Indian, Asian, Bangladeshi
40-42 Glebe Way, West Wickham BR4 0RL

The Sonargaon is a little further out from Bromley, but is still in the Top 10, so here is Sheila of Croydon’s review and thoughts:

Sunday – Saturday. We have had brilliant meals here at Sonargaon on various evenings although mainly a Saturday many times, food is always excellent & staff are some of the best recognising you immediately even if it’s been a while between visits. This was our first Sunday buffet which we came with the whole family & from young to old the food did not disappoint really very good with a nice variety.

Indian Diner
Srtyle: Indian, Asian, Bangladeshi
101 High Street, West Wickham BR4 0LT

Debbie of London gives this rather long review about their eating experience at the Indian Diner. Another Indian restaurant in West Wickham, just outside Bromley.

Fabulous Meal! I would like to say thank you to Asif & Makdad and everyone that works at at Indian Diner for such a lovely evening last night. Friday 30th December… It was our 6 months wedding anniversary and we decided to celebrate with you all, as we had joined your face book page after wakking past your restaurant many times we then saw your fabulous news of you winning ,2 awards, congratulations once again x From first entering your restaurant we were greeted with warn and friendly staff.vEven as we were shown to our table, all the staff took time to say hello which was lovely. X I would also like to thank Soil and Amit (I hope I have spelt your names corrrectly) as these two young men were funny and friendly and great for recommending dishes from your lovely menu, and what good choices they suggested. The colours, smells from the wonderful blend of delicious spices and that was before we had even tasted the dishes. Then once we tucked into our food, wow! amazing flavours that hit our pallet, seasoned with an array of amazing flavours through to the delicious sauces. what can I say but we will be coming back, infact I even booked a table for Tues 18th December for a few friends to have the 5 course meal and entertainment for Xmas celebrations. Finally I would like to recommend Indian Diner to all that see the reviews and posts on Facebook or Indian Diner sight. You will not be disappointed in the service, friendliness of all staff, such a selection on menu and not forgetting the delicious food. If I did forget, I would like to compliment the chef’s for they delicious creations X. Thank you all once again, Debbie Morris-Cope XXX

Shampan 2
Style: Indian, Asian, Balti
38 Chatterton Road, Chatterton Village, Bromley BR2 9QN

Daydream gives their review and thoughts about Bromley’s Shampan 2 Indian restaurant:

Friendly service, but overpriced with small portions. We shared the Chef’s special grilled platter to start which was tasty but not even enough for one person, let alone two which was a real shame.

I ordered the Kentish leg of lamb for main which was described as “tender pieces of meat” – but it actually arrived as shredded meat in sauce which wasn’t pleasant at all and therefore left. I only ate the rice which came with it, which was probably only about 4 mouthfuls, and a small garlic naan (about half the size of a standard naan. It wasn’t worth complaining as the restaurant was crammed to capacity and we wouldn’t have had time to wait for the issue to be fixed.

Our bill came to over £100 for 2 mains, 1 starter and 2 small naans. We had 2 single vodka/coke and 3 pints of Cobra (would have only been 2 pints but the food was late)

The 10% (optional) service charge is a bit of a disgrace. However we chose to pay it as the staff were attentive and friendly. However we won’t be returning.

I’m aware this restaurant claims to be to be fine dining. But if this means customers leave without a full stomach then some issues need to be addressed.

Another thing for people to be aware of is that there isn’t much ventilation if you sit downstairs, so your clothes will smell a lot afterwards.

Chai Naasto
Style: Indian, Asian, Street Food
2-4 Fairfield Road, Beckenham BR3 3LD

This review comes from Lee and he goes on to say:

Must Visit. I went here with no expectations what so ever. From the moment I stepped through the door I knew I’d like the place, from the really friendly staff, the decor, the vibe, the smile on the faces of the guests, the smell of good food. We were there as a group of 12 friends having a catch up. The staff were incredibly accommodating making sure everything was ok. One of the owners came to make sure everything was ok. The menu was a breathe of fresh air with so many different options to choose from so different to what we’ve come to expect from Indian restaurants. Yet oh so good. The service was amazing, you were never left waiting long. The food itself was incredible the flavours were amazing, everything tasted so fresh and for me the quality was absolutely on point. To often these days you go into a restaurant and can tell that some members of staff don’t actually want to be there. Not here!! every member of staff was beaming and they couldn’t do enough for you. What’s pretty obvious is that I’ll be highly recommending this place and shall myself be back there in the not to distant future.

Mount Everest Restaurant
Style: Indian, Asian, Nepalese
258 High Street, Bromley BR1 1PG, England

Vishalm gives their view about their eating experience at the Mount Everest Restaurant in Bromley:

Good food and ambiance. I visited with the place with my friends and ordered veg and non-veg plates like chicken, veg jalfrezi, dal tarka and check pea curry. Overall all plates were tasty and enough in quantity. Breads were equally good across roti, garlick Naan and laccha paratha. Service was quite prompt.
