It doesn’t matter precisely how big or small your move (a large family home or small studio flat) you may decide that storage is needed. This can be due to a number of reasons, for example:
• when selling you home, store some of your possessions to make your property seem more spacious and attractive.
• If you sell your property before you can move to your new home, you may need to live in rented accommodation for a short period of time. This may well be furnished meaning you will need somewhere to store your furniture short-term.
• You may decide to prepare your new home before you move in. This may be just a spring clean and a lick of paint or it could turn into a full refurbishment.
We also provide:
• Piano Removers
• Furniture Hoist
• Packing Materials – cardboard boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap etc
• Emergency moves
• Short notice moves
• Long distance moves

Deptford’s character has traditionally been heavily influenced by its maritime past. Deptford was originally a ford of the river Ravensbourne later paved by the Romans and still later developing into part of Watling Street. It was part of the pilgrimage route from London to Canterbury and is mentioned in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales.
The real impetus for the development of Deptford came with Henry VIII constructing a royal dockyard to repair, build and provision ships. During Elizabethan times the docks were an important base for the exploration of the new world. Elizabeth I visited the yards in 1581 to knight Sir Francis Drake. The docks were also important for trade and had strong connections to the slave trade.
As ships became larger and the Thames difficult to navigate Deptford declined with competition coming from new yards such as Plymouth, Portsmouth and Chatham. The Royal Docks eventually closed in 1869.
Deptford continued to experience a decline throughout the 20th century due to the closure of the docks and severe bomb damage during the second world war.
Like many areas of deprivation in London, Deptford’s 21st century renaissance has been rapid and continues apace. New bars and restaurants seem to spring up on a weekly basis. Though this is to be welcomed many fear that the old, mainly maritime, character will be lost.
